  • Support Radiologists and other Health Care Professionals by performing administrative tasks including but not limited to ordering supplies, clerical including faxing, filing, sorting, and distributing mail, arranging janitorial services, problem-solving as needed.
  • Greet patients on arrival and provide a positive experience through excellent customer service.
  • Maintain correct and up-to-date patient and physician information.
  • Perform appointment bookings, reminders, and follow-up calls.
  • Answer patient inquiries. Return voice mail messages as soon as practicable.
  • Manage patient referrals – scheduling as per protocol.
  • Accept patient payments professionally and confidentially (US photos etc.)
  • Maintain patient confidentiality regarding illness, treatment, diagnosis.
  • Participate in training/workshops etc., as they become available.
  • Go-to person for the clinic team on patient navigation, chaperoning exams for male technologists during Endo-Vaginal and Breast Examinations, assisting with interdepartmental communications, and alerting technicians of any patient concerns disclosed on check-in, scheduling examinations according to the protocol for each imaging mode.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the management and supervisory team and seek ways to help cohesively.
  • Travel to Grande Prairie will be required for training in up to 4x per year.

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Health lnformation Office Assistant, Unit Clerk, or Medical Office Assistant.
  • Medical Terminology.
  • Knowledge of Diagnostic lmaging is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Previous experience using a patient/diagnostician booking program would be an asset.

Peace Diagnostic Imaging (PDI) is seeking outstanding Sonographers to join our team – full time, part time, and locum positions are available.

For nearly 20 years, PDI has been providing high quality diagnostic radiology to the residents of Northern Alberta and Eastern B.C. We are committed to improving lives and communities through excellence in patient care and medical imaging. We are located in Grande Prairie, a young, thriving city full of continuous growth and opportunity with much to offer: from shopping and entertainment to world-class recreation facilities and activities, as well as a regional airport.

PDI has recently expanded the clinic to include a Women’s Imaging center. This will provide tomosynthesis, Automated Breast Ultrasound (ABUS), bone mineral density, and OB/Gyne imaging. We also have extensively updated General Ultrasound/Echocardiography, and added pain management. Fluoroscopy which will be completed in the Fall of 2021. In addition, we recently opened ultrasound clinics in Peace River, La Crete, and High Prairie.

Duties and Responsibilities
Sonography

  • Operate medical imaging equipment to efficiently perform diagnostic quality exams
  • Use independent judgment and adjust each exam to optimize its diagnostic utility
  • Prepare effective exam reports and documentation
  • Train and assess student sonographers, as needed
  • Participate in accreditation

Patient Care

  • Superior communication skills with patients, colleagues and radiologists
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and sensitivity to individual needs and concerns
  • Ensure patient confidentiality

Teamwork

  • Follow department protocols and guidelines
  • Work effectively as part of the PDI health care team

Qualifications

  • Diploma from accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program (or equivalent)
  • Active CRGS member of Sonography Canada (CARDUP) with liability insurance
  • Criminal and vulnerable sector check
  • Current CPR certification

Peace Diagnostic Imaging (PDI) is located in Grande Prairie, AB.  We are looking for team members to help us provide quality and compassionate care to our patients. We are looking for friendly, talented individuals to join our team.  We are a well-established clinic where we do General X-rays, Pain Management, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, Bone Mineral Density (BMD), Mammography and Automated Breast Ultrasound (ABUS).  We have recently expanded in all areas! The clinic has been given a new look with new renovations and brand-new state-of-the-art equipment!

Presently we seek an experienced MRT for a permanent full-time position.  MRTs will enjoy working on new equipment in our Fluoroscopy, Pain Management and General X-Ray departments. As an X-ray Tech with PDI, you will provide a wide range of imaging exams.

Here’s What You’ll Need

  • Current registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)and successful candidates will need to be registered with the Alberta College of Medical & Therapeutic Technologists(ACMDTT)
  • Attention to detail is critical
  • Excellent problem solving, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Current CPR certification – annual CPR recertification will be provided by PDI
  • Excellent technical and patient care skills
  • General knowledge regarding the operation of computers and Diagnostic Imaging equipment.
  • Work with the team to support efficient workflow within the department and with other departments within the clinic
  • Demonstrate a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients and families)
  • Must have a level of physical fitness to perform the tasks of the position (e.g., long period of standing while wearing a lead apron)
  • Must be able to work alone as well as with teammates in a busy environment
  • Relevant work experience is an asset but not necessary
  • BMD and Mammography experience is an asset but not a necessity

What you will do:

The Mammography Technologist I is responsible for facilitating mammography examinations to produce high-quality images using digital radiologic equipment following prescribed radiation safety procedures. You will be responsible for performing general mammographic exams, completing exams as per physician requisitions, processing and archiving data, monitoring patients, entering relevant data into the radiology information system and equipment performance during procedures, plus general maintenance.

Additionally, the technologist is responsible for:

  • Documenting client history
  • Critiquing images
    Maintaining client flow
  • Conducting quality control tests on mammography units
  • Assisting other staff members when requested
  • Communicating with service providers
  • Complete tech and equipment audits
  • Attend meetings

What you need:

  • Completion of a diploma in Medical Radiation Technology
  • Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT)
  • CAMRT (Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists) certification
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP)
  • We prefer candidates with at least two years of mammography experience, but we are willing to train if you have the right mindset.
  • Preference for candidates who have post-graduate education in mammography (e.g., CAMRT Mammo I and Mammo II) or a specialty certificate in Breast Imaging.
  • Must be able to perform the role’s physical requirements, including positioning patients, operating equipment, and performing quality control tests.

This position is available as a Casual role. Clinic Hours are Monday – Saturday 8 hours per shift. Medical Radiation Technologist II starts at $36.81/hour + based on skills and experience.
