You may wish to book your appointment a week after your menstrual cycle finishes to help minimize tenderness and keep the exam as comfortable as possible.
Digital Breast Tomosynthesis uses a small amount of radiation to generate its images, but this is safe and will not cause any side-effects.
When you come for your exam, our technologists will gently and respectfully perform the digital breast tomosynthesis procedure. A series of images will be taken of the right and left breasts.
At the end of your exam, the images will be compiled by our computer and a report will be sent to your doctor within 1 business day. You may get your results earlier if the information is urgent.
