General radiography, commonly known as x-rays, is one of the cornerstone services provided at Peace Diagnostic Imaging. An integral part of healthcare in Canada and an invaluable diagnostic tool, general radiography uses non-invasive imaging technology to diagnose various diseases.
X-ray services are currently welcomed on a walk-in basis. You will be required to bring a signed requisition from your doctor.
Please inform your doctor immediately if you are pregnant or there is a possibility that you could be pregnant, as x-ray radiation is harmful to the unborn baby and can result in birth defects.
We are unable to accommodate patients experiencing signs and symptoms of covid-19.
No special preparation is necessary for general x-ray.
Procedures usually take 10-15 minutes however wait times are dependant on the number of patients in the queue.
You may be asked to remove clothing, accessories, jewelry, piercings, or other items that might affect the quality of your exam. If you are asked to remove clothing a gown will be provided.
Women between the ages of 12 and 55 will be asked to provide their menstrual status. If there is a possibility of pregnancy the patient may be asked to return at a later date.
Your technologist will position you according to the area being examined. You will be required to hold still and may be given breathing instructions during the exam.
Once your Technologist obtains the images required you will be free to leave and your results will be sent to your Doctor within 24hrs.
X-ray exams are covered under your Provincial Health Care Plan.
For most of our services, your appointment will need to be scheduled, but if you need an X-ray, you can just come on in! Please note that a doctor’s referral is needed.
